Monitoring system can be controlled through ethernet network connection
A new monitoring system which specialises in providing industrial-grade energy data logging will use ethernet network systems in order to provide access.
The HOBO U30/Eth Remote Monitoring System will allow users to access the solution over an ethernet network connection.
Designed for facility managers, energy managers and people in related positions, the system allows the recording of information on energy usage, performance and efficiency to be controlled at a distance.
Weatherproof, its organisers claim the device can continue to operate in harsh environments "for years" without becoming damaged.
Utilising ethernet network cables to connect with the sensors, the technology allows alarm conditions to be established which will allow certain events to trigger notifications such as text message or email alerts.
Its sensors can accurately measure temperature, humidity, wattage, energy, pressure, carbon dioxide and other criteria.
Baumer recently announced it had developed a new line of cameras - model GigE - that provide power over Cat6 ethernet network cables, which removes the need for an additional source of energy and could simplify mechanical design.
