Wed 05-Nov-2008

New research has been revealed which shows the overseas outsourcing sector has doubled in size since 2005.

An IDC report, In The Mind Of The Offshore Outsourcing Customer, How Are Requirements Evolving?, examined 200 organisations in order to reach its conclusions.

Contained within its research is a discussion of the vertical views of demand during the next two to three years.

Program manager IT services for the firm Aprajita Sharma claims the current trend in the IT world towards modernisation and transformation means offshoring holds a great deal of appeal.

"Apart from the usual drivers mentioned, many organisations have also stressed increasing shareholder value through operational flexibility, cost reduction and improved efficiencies," she states.

She adds: "[These and the financial crisis] are expected to fuel demand for offshore outsourcing."

According to a Gartner report, companies looking to make long-term investments could look towards outsourcing their data centre capabilities.ADNFCR-1505-ID-18860790-ADNFCR
